Abstract
This study zeroes in on individuals of Indian descent residing in a rather secluded locale. A whole bunch of Indians decided to spread their wings and explore opportunities in various other countries right before independence hit the scene. These folks packed their bags and bid adieu to their home countries in search of a life that's a notch above--think better job prospects, fatter pay checks, more educational opportunities, and an overall upgrade in the quality-of-life department. This bunch faces the Herculean task of connecting the dots between their rich Indian heritage and the curious cultures they stumble upon in foreign lands. A few of these Indian diaspora folks are itching to pen down their tales, eager to showcase their national identity. They rummage through their memories, tap into their social circles, embrace cultural quirks, and reflect on their surroundings, all in the name of storytelling. The realm of Indian English literature has taken a delightful leap forward, thanks to the rise of talented female Indian authors. They don't just stick to prose; they also flirt with theatre, poetry, and short stories, all while juggling a delightful mix of regional languages like Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, and English. In the past two decades, the realm of English-language literature crafted by Indian women has blossomed impressively, both on the home front and across the globe. Understanding the intricacies of the Indian diaspora across various settings could be a delightful journey through the pages of diasporic Indian English literature. This article takes a delightful plunge into the legacies of Indian women diasporic writers, showcasing how their literary flair not only inspires the next generation of Indians but also elevates India's standing on the world stage. It's a journey through words that highlights the ongoing evolution of a nation, one page at a time.
