Oral mucositis is a common, debilitating symptom affecting many patients on high-dose chemotherapy. It has been shown to affect 5-15% of patients undergoing cancer treatment in general, but with certain agents such as 5-florouracil (5FU), the rates are much higher, approaching 40-50%. Statement of the Problem: A study to assess the effectiveness of ice cube application in reducing oral mucositis among chemotherapy receiving patients in selected hospital at kanyakumari district. Objectives: To assess the level of oral mucositis before the application of ice cubes among chemotherapy receiving patients with cancer. To assess the level of oral mucositis after the application of ice cubes among chemotherapy receiving patients with cancer. Methodology:This study adopts quasi experimental design with pretest and post test control group design. Data was collected from 40 samples by simple random technique. The tool used for data collection include: Selected demographic variables, World Health Organization (WHO) scale gradings. All tools were validated and subjected to reliability testing. Pilot study was conducted to find out the feasibility of the study. The tool was administered and data was collected for 6 weeks from 40 samples and the data obtained were classified, grouped and analyzed based on the objectives and hypotheses formulated for the study using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: In experimental group 35% of sample subjects had normal and mild oral mucositis, 20% had moderate and 10% severe erythema, were as in control group 40% of sample subjects had extreme oral mucositis, 30% had severe, 20% had moderate and 10% had mild erythema. The mean oral mucositis score in experimental group (1.0) was greater than the mean oral mucositis score of the control group (0.8). The mean difference was (0.2) and was significant at (P<0.001) level. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that, there was a high significance in reduction of oral mucositis among chemotherapy receiving patients after application of ice cubes in experimental group than control group. Thus ice cube application played an important role in reducing oral mucositis among chemotherapy receiving patients.

The emergence of cloud computing has revolutionized the Information and Communication Technology landscape, offering a cost-effective and scalable solution for the on-demand provision of computing resources. Organizations are increasingly drawn to the cloud for outsourcing their computational requirements, benefiting from minimal upfront investment. Central to this paradigm are Service Level Agreements (SLAs), which ensure Quality of Service (QoS) between cloud providers and users. The breach of SLAs can result in contractual penalties and revenue loss, underscoring the criticality of effective SLA management for cloud providers. This involves continuous monitoring and control of various SLA parameters to prevent violations. To address this challenge, there is a growing need for proactive measures to anticipate and mitigate potential breaches by predicting SLA parameter values based on continuous monitoring data. In this research, we propose an agent-based SLA management framework featuring a coordinator agent designed to employ predictive modeling techniques for pre-emptively identifying and addressing SLA violations. Our approach is substantiated by a case study utilizing real-world datasets, demonstrating the efficacy of predictive modeling in enhancing SLA management within cloud environments.

This paper attempts to study the role of women in recreating the space in the process of resettling in the outskirts of Calcutta. If Partition has destroyed a whole generation of women, it has also provided an opportunity for many women to move into the public sphere which was even unimaginable to many women before Partition. Such large-scale displacement of women made the country think about workplaces where women were a new presence and on political mobilization where women began to participate in great numbers. not all women welcomed this newfound independence. This individual freedom was also a form of slavery, a burden which one can neither carry, nor avoid. Women's dominion, sphere, and location have always been inside the house and have been connected, across time and cultures, to a private world apart from a public one inhabited by males. Compared to their male compatriots, women were far more vociferous. Since they were more receptive to criticism and more eager to speak out against the system when surrounded by supportive individuals, refugee women were the first to organise. Even the screaming fits that hungry kids would throw at home had to be dealt with. This is how women started to take care of both the outside world and their homes. Hindu refugee women gradually started to make their public debuts.

The management of electronic resources (e-resources) in academic libraries is pivotal in enhancing research and educational outcomes. This study explores the strategies and effectiveness of e-resource management in selected university libraries across Telangana State, India. The study focuses on how libraries acquire, access, integrate e-resources, and the challenges faced by the University Libraries. The study utilizes a mixed-methods approach, incorporating surveys, interviews, and direct observation to gather data from librarians and users within the university libraries. Key focus areas include the impact of technological infrastructure, budget allocations, staff competencies, user engagement on the overall management and utilization of e-resources. The study reveals a significant variation in the management practices between different university libraries, influenced by financial, technical, and human resource factors. While some libraries demonstrate robust systems and policies for managing e-resources efficiently, others struggle with issues such as inadequate funding, limited technical support, and lack of training for library staff. The study suggests that enhancing digital literacy skills among librarians and users, increasing budget allocations for digital resources, and adopting advanced technological tools are critical for improving the management of e-resources in university libraries. The study concludes with a set of recommendations tailored for policymakers, library administrators, and academic institutions in Telangana to optimize their e-resource management strategies to better support their academic communities.
