 Abstract

The gaming industry has undergone a significant transformation with the proliferation of microtransactions, which have become a pivotal revenue model. This study explores the impact of microtransactions on player behaviour, focusing on retention, engagement, fairness perceptions, and overall satisfaction. By integrating quantitative data from surveys and in-game metrics with qualitative insights derived from interviews and online discussions, the research assesses how various types of microtransactions--such as cosmetic and pay-to-win--affect the gaming experience. The results indicate that while microtransactions can enhance player engagement through additional content and customization options, they may adversely affect player retention and satisfaction if perceived as unfair or disruptive to gameplay balance. These findings underscore the importance of developing monetization strategies that are both ethical and conducive to a positive gaming experience, providing valuable insights for developers aiming to balance revenue generation with player satisfaction.

 Abstract

Background: Nutrition has been acknowledged as a key role for sustaining good health, improving overall well-being, and enhancing athletic performance. Athletes' strength, training, performance, and recovery are impacted by their diet. When athletes understand how and what they consume and how to apply this knowledge to their daily demands and athletic accomplishments, they are seen as being better performers and the body's capacity to recovers is betters. To understand the nutritional knowledge and practices of athletes, this study was undertaken. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional research design was used for this study. A total of 145 athletes between the ages of 18 and 40 years participated in the study. The standardized Nutrition for Sport Knowledge Questionnaires (NSKQ 2019) and the 24-hour dietary recall of the athletes was used. Results: The athletes were found to have an average nutritional knowledge and majority of the athletes do not follow or consume special diet as per their sport activity. There were no association between the nutritional knowledge of the athletes and the type of sport performed. Conclusion: The athletes have mediocre understanding on sports nutrition and have poor dietary practices. Additionally, one of the biggest obstacles that may impede athletes from adopting healthy dietary habits could be due to the ignorance and lack of expert advice and support in regards to their food intake.

 Abstract

Abbreviations: Environment Protection Act 1986: EPA, Judicial activism: JA, Supreme Court: S.C, Environmental: Environmtl, Public Interest Litigation: PIL, Article: art. Abstract: JA, especially in the realm of Environmtl law, has become an essential tool for protecting Environmtl interests when legislative or executive actions may not suffice. This paper examines how JA, through the lens of the Indian Constitution, has significantly contributed to the enforcement of the EPA of 1986, fostering sustainable development also promoting Environmtl justice. EPA was formed to develop a solid regulatory framework for safeguarding the environment, yet its implementation has often been hindered by government inaction and violations by industries. Judicial intervention has frequently been required to address these shortcomings, with courts stepping in as defenders of Environmtl rights. The judiciary has broadened the interpretation of constitutional rights, particularly Art. 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the right to life, to encompass the right to a clean and healthy environment. Landmark decisions by the S.C of India, such as the Vellore Citizens' Welfare Forum v. UOI and the M.C. Mehta cases, illustrate the judiciary's proactive stance in enforcing Environmtl protections. This paper offers a thorough constitutional analysis of JA in relation to the EPA's implementation, exploring how courts have interpreted both the Act and the Constitution to advance Environmtl protection. In this context, the paper identifies significant trends in judicial rulings, evaluates their influence on Environmtl jurisprudence, and considers the wider implications of these judicial actions for Environmtl governance. The conclusion suggests that while JA has been effective in certain situations, a more integrated and coordinated strategy involving legislative reform and executive dedication is essential for achieving sustainable Environmtl governance in India.
