 Abstract

Amitav Ghosh's literary oeuvre is characterised by a scrupulously researched quality that evokes a sense of verisimilitude akin to that of a lengthy documentary that has been transformed into a narrative work of fiction. Ghosh does not purport to offer a historically accurate account, but rather he endeavours to recount the stories of those events and episodes from history that have been either overlooked, neglected, or sparsely documented. By situating his fictional works within specific historical frameworks, Ghosh brings to life these seemingly "minor" events and episodes, thus presenting an alternative interpretation of historical facts through his literary craftsmanship. Ghosh's fictional narratives serve as a means of reconstructing history by retrieving and reclaiming such "minor" events and episodes. His seminal works, including The Shadow Lines (1988), The Glass Palace (2000), The Hungry Tide (2004), as well as the recent novels comprising the Ibis trilogy, are all examples of such fictional narratives that seek to extricate and retrieve forgotten, vanished, and effaced episodes and events from the annals of official history.

 Abstract

Introduction: Monkey pox is a zoonotic ortho pox virus that incidentally causes disease in humans similar to smallpox, although with notably lower mortality. Education of patients and healthcare workers in regions where the monkey pox virus is endemic is of the utmost importance .Improving patient recognition of this disease, reporting fidelity, and access to diagnostic capabilities are critical actions for collecting the data necessary to gain a deeper understanding of and strengthen defense against monkey pox. Nurses have a key role in responding to the monkey pox outbreak by delivering health education on prevention and infection control .The nursing students must possess a sound knowledge of monkey pox in order to make them identify, diagnose the patients with monkey pox and provide them proper medical care. Materials and Methods: Non experimental descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The study was conducted among 200 nursing students in selected nursing colleges, Kollam. In order to assess the knowledge of nursing students regarding monkey pox, non- probability cohort sampling technique was used. The tool used for the data collection consisted of demographic proforma and structured knowledge questionnaire. The analysis of the data was based on the objectives of the study using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The findings of the present study revealed that 52% had adequate knowledge, 47% had moderate knowledge and 1% had inadequate knowledge regarding Monkey pox and also revealed that there was no association between knowledge and the demographic variables, such as age, family income and source of information and there was association between knowledge and demographic variable 'gender''. Conclusion: The monkey pox epidemic, like any other pandemic and endemic, puts pressure on nurses working on the frontlines of care with infected patients. The study finding revealed the importance in providing knowledge regarding Monkey pox among nursing student . More than 50%of the nursing students are having adequate knowledge regarding Monkey pox

 Abstract

Descriptive-survey study was conducted to find out the relationship between Attitude towards Inclusive Education (ATIE) and Readiness for Inclusive Classroom (RIC) among the B. ED students of Cuddalore district. A sample of B. ED students from various colleges were randomly selected for the study. To collect the data, ATIE and RIC were used which was designed and constructed by the investigator. The data were analyzed using the statistical techniques like Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's Product Moment The results revealed that the majority of B.Ed. students had a moderate level of ATIE and RIC. Male students demonstrated a significantly higher mean ATIE score compared to females. Additionally, students with college-educated mothers exhibited a more positive attitude towards inclusive education. However, no significant differences were found based on locality, fathers' education, or family income. Moreover, the Pearson correlation between ATIE and RIC showed no statistically significant relationship between the two variables.

 Abstract

Generally, each country has its trade law other than international trade law. Therefore, international trade is a process between at least two countries. This diversity requires common languages and unity of practice between different countries. The ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) has been working on standard trade terms since 1919. In 1936, the first edition of Incoterms was published and revised many times. Generally, Incoterms have been set up for delivery in the international sales contract. These are widely accepted and describe the condition of the parties (buyer and Seller). National law or international treaty governs contracts of sale, for instance, the Convention on Contracts for the international sale of Goods (CISG). Therefore, those who deal with international trade prefer to use global standard terms instead of one party's national law, which may be the verdict in favor of their citizen. Therefore, Incoterms are applicable both in international and national contracts. This paper examines the Importance of Incoterms and CISG in International Commercial Contracts.

 Abstract

Education is considered the most powerful social element for the betterment of the quality of life of people and also for the sustainable development of society and the growth of a country. United nation millennium development goals (MDGs), United nation sustainable development goals (SDGs), National education policy (NEP 1986, 1992, 2020) etc. all included education as a prerequisite for the betterment and balanced development of the nation. But in the Indian scenario, there have been observed inequalities among states, districts, blocks and even within village communities, which is a great concern for promoting national development. Keeping in mind the above facts, the present study has been focused on the spatio-temporal analysis of educational facilities among fifty-four blocks under the undivided Medinipur district, West Bengal, for the two census years 2001 and 2011 respectively. The study tried to compute inequalities in educational facilities using a composite educational index on the basis of twelve selected indicators, following Deprivation index method. The study found that western blocks are very deprived in comparing to eastern blocks regarding educational facilities for the year 2001, whereas, in 2011 western blocks improved a little but eastern blocks shows inadequacy in the available educational infrastructure in comparing to the rapid population growth in the same period of time. The study argued for necessary government policy by local institutions for improvement of the educational facilities of deprived pockets within the district.
