Kancha Gachibowli, a rapidly urbanizing locality in Hyderabad, India, is home to remnants of diverse ecological habitats that support a wide range of flora and fauna. However, the region faces significant biodiversity loss due to urban expansion, habitat fragmentation, pollution, and encroachment. This paper explores the current challenges in conserving biodiversity in Kancha Gachibowli, including insufficient ecological planning, limited public awareness, and lack of enforcement of environmental regulations. Despite these issues, the area presents notable opportunities for conservation through the integration of green infrastructure, community-led ecological restoration, and policy-driven biodiversity corridors. The study also outlines future directions, emphasizing the need for multidisciplinary approaches involving local governance, scientific research, and citizen participation to ensure sustainable urban development while preserving biodiversity. Strategic planning, ecological monitoring, and habitat restoration are proposed as key pillars for the long-term conservation of Kancha Gachibowli's ecological integrity.

When one buys a product the first thing one checks is the price tag - is it within my budget? Very rarely do we bother to check other things like durability, expiry date etc. This is where consumer awareness begins. The expansion of service sector like insurance, banking, electricity, medical services in rural areas has added to the problem. Spurious drugs are causing major health hazards to the vulnerable sections who are mainly women, children and farmers. Hence, there is a need to study the awareness of consumer protection movement in rural Karnataka. The aim of this research paper is to investigate the awareness towards rights among rural consumer, redressing grievances process, responsibilities and consumer protection campaigns in rural area. The data were collected from 120 valid responses. The outcome shows that the respondents are more aware of checking the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) before buying a product and always purchase a commodity having the trademarks and logos authentication marks such as ISI, AGMARK, BIS. They believe in relief available to the victim through redressing grievances process. The study also reveals that Jago Grahak Jago has today become a household maxim by educating rural consumers on various issues related to consumer rights. Consumer awareness is not always about rights, but also about responsibilities and shouldering them honestly and sincerely. In this study, the sample respondents have higher level perceptions towards all the statements on responsibilities by assigning the mean value of more than 3. But, there is lower level perceptions were evidenced among the sample respondents towards their awareness on redressing grievances process which shows a long road ahead to ensure effective consumer justice.

Medicinal plants have been the basis of traditional medicine for centuries, providing an effective healing method. In addition to their medicinal uses, they are also beneficial for environmental protection, economic development, and culture. This article explores how medicinal plants can contribute to sustainable development, highlighting their role in preserving biodiversity, promoting environmentally friendly agriculture, and helping to combat climate change. They also help reduce inequalities in health care, build livelihoods, and protect traditional knowledge. However, habitat loss, overharvesting, and development are serious problems. This article proposes strategies to address these issues and sustainably manage medicinal plants, aligning them with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This study explores the traditional barter system practiced by the Monpa community in Zemithang Circle, Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh - a border region historically linked to Tibet and Bhutan. Drawing on oral histories from elders and field interviews, it traces the evolution, items exchanged such as mar (butter) and churpi( cheese) for grains and salt, trade routes via Kenzamane to Tsona, and service exchanges like labour during harvests( Blanpa/Lakpar) and ritual payments. The system fostered social cohesion amid geographical challenges but faced limitations including double coincidence of wants, unequal bargaining, and exploitation by officials. Despite transitioning to a monetary economy, barter's cultural echoes persist in community rituals, highlighting its role in economic survival and reciprocity.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST), introduced in India on 1 July 2017, represents one of the most significant reforms in the country's indirect tax architecture. Designed to replace a complex web of state and central taxes, GST aimed to create a unified tax system, reduce the cascading effect of taxes, improve transparency, and promote ease of doing business. This research article examines how the implementation of GST has influenced consumer pricing, inflation dynamics, consumer awareness, and spending behavior across various sectors in India. The analysis synthesizes findings from recent academic studies, working papers, and sectoral research.

Political leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping governance effectiveness in democratic systems, particularly in a diverse and federal country like India. This study examines the relationship between political leadership and governance effectiveness by empirically analyzing leadership practices, decision-making processes, and their influence on governance outcomes. The research focuses on key dimensions of governance such as transparency, accountability, public service delivery, policy implementation, and citizen trust. Using empirical evidence drawn from secondary data sources, governance indicators, and existing studies, the paper highlights how leadership quality, stability, and ethical orientation significantly affect governance performance across regions. The findings reveal that effective political leadership contributes to improved administrative efficiency, better utilization of public resources, and enhanced citizen satisfaction, while weak or unstable leadership leads to policy inconsistency and governance gaps. The study also observes that leadership-driven digital governance initiatives have strengthened transparency and service delivery, though regional disparities persist due to variations in leadership capacity and institutional support. The research underscores the importance of collaborative leadership between political executives and bureaucracy for achieving sustainable governance outcomes. The study concludes that strengthening leadership capacity and promoting evidence-based decision-making are essential for enhancing governance effectiveness in India. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers, administrators, and scholars concerned with democratic governance and leadership reforms.

Abstract The evolution of constitutional law in emerging democracies reflects a dynamic interplay of political incentives, judicial empowerment, societal pressures, and constitutional design choices. This article examines how constitutional orders in transitional contexts adapt to institutional fragility, elite contestation, socio-economic inequality, and episodes of populist disruption. Drawing on comparative constitutional theory, judicial politics, and empirical illustrations from various regions, the study demonstrates that constitutional law evolves through continuous negotiation between courts, political elites, and civic actors. The article argues that while constitutional courts often serve as stabilizers of democratic governance, their authority remains vulnerable to strategic manipulation, institutional capture, and majoritarian populism. The findings underscore that constitutional evolution is shaped less by textual provisions and more by political culture, institutional independence, and societal mobilization. The study contributes to debates on democratic consolidation by identifying core conditions for constitutional resilience and pathways through which constitutional backsliding emerges and can be countered.

Abstract Education plays a pivotal role in empowering women in India by enhancing their social, economic, and political agency. As a transformative tool, education improves women's access to employment opportunities, promotes financial independence, and contributes to better health and well-being for themselves and their families. It also challenges traditional gender norms, fosters critical thinking, and enables women to participate more actively in decision-making processes both within the household and in society. Despite significant progress through government initiatives and rising literacy rates, barriers such as socio-economic inequalities, early marriage, cultural biases, and limited access to quality education continue to hinder women's full empowerment. Strengthening educational infrastructure, promoting gender-sensitive curricula, and ensuring inclusive policies are essential to unlocking the potential of women and advancing overall national development. This abstract highlights the multifaceted role of education in shaping a more equitable and empowered future for women in India.
