English as a foreign language poses many difficulties to teach and to learn; the problem gets further intense when English has to be used as a medium of instruction to teach other subjects. There is a definite need to support foreign language learners by extending the learning and instruction outside the classroom. There is a growing realization of the role of social media in learning / teaching especially of English language. Handheld devices like mobiles and tablets, laptops and desktops are all possible means to access social media apps. Such social media apps along with search engines and conferencing apps form an essential tool kit for learning and instruction outside the physical classrooms. Mobiles and internet have become popular for eLearning due to their features such as ubiquity, interactivity and portability. A lot of research has been done globally on the student's perspective for the use of extended English language learning outside the classroom through social media apps and audio / video conferencing, a study on the experiences and observations of the teachers on teaching through such means revealed that teachers perceive social media and eLearning very useful and effective for English learning and instruction. Teachers find such means definitely useful for the preparation and conduct of the classes. While social media and eLearning for teaching English is not without some drawbacks, the positives of such means for ELT far outweigh the negatives. This paper describes the use of social media in English Classroom and proposes a practical way to make the best use of it.

Abstract: The present study aimed to assess the knowledge of antenatal women regarding identification of alarming signs leading to obstetrical emergencies during pregnancy, labour and puerperium. A quasi experimental research design was utilized at khanam's Hospital and Nursing Home, Hazuri Bagh, Srinagar. The most commonly reported alarming sign that could lead to obstetrical emergency was found to be continuous severe headache, difficulty in breathing (dyspnea), severe backache, severe abdominal pain, excessive vomiting, and epigastric pain. The least found alarming sign included recurrent vaginal bleeding swelling of face, hands, feet and legs, blurred vision, breathlessness, decreased urine output, high BP, high blood sugar, Convulsions, anaemia, high fever, excessive vomiting, premature rupture of membranes, reduced or no fetal movements. The mean post test knowledge score of Experimental group was 86.24% which was much higher than the mean post test knowledge score of Control group that was only 50.54%. The Chi-square value showed that in Experimental group, there was no significant association between the pre-test knowledge score and demographic variables. Also there was no significant association between the pre-test knowledge score with the Obstetric variables.

Regardless of a person's gender, gender equality is a crucial idea that supports justice and fairness in treatment. It encompasses the notion that all people, regardless of gender identity, should have equal access to opportunities, rights, and responsibilities. Institutional barriers and cultural practices that sustain bias and stereotypes need to be addressed in order to attain gender parity. It means creating a welcoming environment where individuals may thrive on the basis of their abilities and attributes rather than being limited by gender stereotypes. In addition to being a matter of social justice, implementing gender parity is a catalyst for economic and social progress. In summary, attaining gender parity necessitates a thorough and systemic strategy rather than just tackling discrete problems. It calls for the demolition of deeply embedded cultural norms and prejudices that support discrimination against women. Adopting a comprehensive approach entails putting in place laws that support equitable chances for work, education, and leadership positions as well as encouraging a cultural movement towards tolerance and respect for a range of gender identities. Governments, corporations, communities, and people must work together to confront and alter the systems that uphold injustice in order to achieve gender parity.
