 Abstract

Abstract: The indigenous tribal communities, known as Adivasis, are among the oldest inhabitants of the Indian subcontinent. Despite constitutional safeguards, these communities face myriad challenges, including exploitation, forced displacement, social and economic marginalization, and threats to their cultural identity. This paper examines the constitutional provisions related to Scheduled Tribes (STs) in India, explores the critical issues impacting these communities, and proposes measures to enhance their welfare and integration into the national mainstream.

 Abstract

This paper explores the representation of the Bene Israel Jewish community in Esther David's novels The Walled City and Shalom India Housing Society, highlighting her nuanced portrayal of cultural identity, tradition, and adaptation within the Indian sociocultural landscape. Through these works, David captures the distinctiveness of the Bene Israel a small yet resilient Jewish group rooted in India emphasizing how they preserve their religious practices, customs, and festivals while integrating seamlessly into a diverse and predominantly non-Jewish environment. The Walled City delves into the protagonist's personal journey through a patriarchal, tradition-bound Jewish household in Ahmedabad, reflecting on generational tensions and the struggle for female autonomy. In contrast, Shalom India Housing Society presents a broader communal lens, portraying the lives of Bene Israel Jews in a post-2002 Gujarat riot setting, addressing issues of security, identity, and cultural survival. Both novels illustrate the community's efforts to maintain their Jewishness amid modernity, marginalization, and migration pressures. Esther David's work not only preserves the memory of a fading community but also reclaims space for Indian Jews in the literary and cultural discourse of India.

 Abstract

North-East India holds a prominent place in the historical, social and cultural fabric of the Indian subcontinent. Among its many indigenous tribes, the Singpho tribe emerge as a significant frontier group, primarily inhabiting the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Historically, the Singphos also known as Jinghpaw or Jingpho or Kachin have been settled in the Patkai Hill range along the borders of Myanmar and China, maintaining a rich and distinct cultural identity over the centuries. At present, they are predominantly inhabited in the Tinsukia district of Assam and in the district of Changlang, Lohit and Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh with smaller populations across other district of Assam. The socio-economic and demographic profile of the Singpho tribe reflects a community residing mostly in designated tribal areas, often isolated from mainstream society. This relative seclusion has played a crucial role in preserving their traditional way of life, which is characterised by a patriarchal and patrilineal family structure, strong kinship networks and adherence to customary laws. The Singpho community stands as a testament to the resilience of indigenous culture heritage in the face of evolving socio-cultural dynamics.

 Abstract

The writ of mandamus functions as a vital judicial tool for ensuring the enforcement of public and statutory duties by governmental authorities and public officials. Rooted in English common law and incorporated into the Indian legal framework under Articles 32 and 226 of the Constitution, mandamus--literally meaning "we command"--serves to compel the performance of a legal duty that has been neglected or wrongfully denied. Within the Indian context, this writ plays a pivotal role in enhancing administrative accountability and securing legal rights, particularly where state inaction undermines constitutional or statutory entitlements. Mandamus has evolved into a mechanism that not only facilitates the oversight of administrative actions but also strengthens the rule of law by mandating compliance with established legal obligations. Indian courts have employed this remedy in diverse situations--from correcting bureaucratic indifference to reinforcing fundamental rights. However, despite its efficacy, the writ is circumscribed by important limitations: it can be invoked only when there is a clear legal duty, and it cannot direct the exercise of discretion in a particular way or interfere with matters of policy. Moreover, mandamus is generally inapplicable in cases lacking statutory or public duty or where the issue is not justiciable. This paper undertakes a critical examination of the application and constraints of the writ of mandamus in India, highlighting its jurisprudential development, practical relevance, and inherent limitations in a constitutional democracy.

 Abstract

India's higher education sector is undergoing a digital transformation, with regional relevance in digital communication emerging as a strategic imperative. This paper presents an exhaustive theoretical and empirical synthesis on the effectiveness of localized influencer marketing--particularly micro-influencer campaigns delivered in regional languages--as a mechanism for deepening emotional engagement and institutional trust among prospective students. Drawing from social identity theory, digital personalization, and influencer credibility literature, the study develops a comprehensive conceptual framework linking cultural resonance, vernacular storytelling, and trust dynamics to improved student recruitment outcomes. The "Cultural Resonance Loop" model is proposed, illustrating how shared cultural markers and localized narratives foster in-group affiliations and drive decision-making in academic contexts. The paper is grounded in a thorough review of contemporary research, industry reports, and case studies, and concludes with detailed implications for marketing strategy, ambassador program design, and policy-level support for linguistic plurality in digital education outreach.

 Abstract

A comprehensive study was undertaken to analyze the physico-chemical and bacteriological characteristics of river Narmada at Dindori (M.P.), India from April to May, 2025, in order to assess its pollution status water sample were collected from five sampling stations and their physico-chemical and microbiological variables like pH, temperature were determined as per BIS,2012 and APHA,1998. A total of 52 bacteria were isolated and tentatively identified. The virulence factors of these isolated bacteria quantitatively measured by plate assay method and their antibiotic resistance pattern was studied by standard disc diffusion method. However, physico- chemical variables did not indicate any pollution of river Narmada as they were well within limits but analysis of bacteriological variables indicate the high organic pollution of river Narmada. Analysis of virulence of environmental bacterial isolates revealed their potential to cause opportunistic infections these environmental isolates also exhibited the phenomena of multiple drug resistance against commonly used antibiotics from the present study it was inferred that Shankar ghat was the most polluted station of river Narmada and its water could be considered unsafe for drinking purpose due to high bacterial load. The physico-chemical and bacteriological quality of water needs to be carefully assessed for checking and solving the problem of pollution and such data would also be helpful in phylogenetic diversity study.

 Abstract

The postpartum period represents a deeply transformative stage in a woman's life, marked by physical recovery and intense emotional and psychological shifts. While medical care for physical recovery is often prioritized, mental health challenges tend to remain unaddressed--particularly in developing countries like India. Emotional conditions such as postpartum depression (PPD), anxiety, and psychological exhaustion are frequently observed but are rarely acknowledged due to cultural silence and lack of awareness. This paper investigates the psychological hurdles faced by Indian mothers after childbirth, the societal pressures that amplify their mental distress, and the roles families, healthcare systems, and policy frameworks play in supporting maternal well-being. The purpose is to advocate for enhanced understanding, early diagnosis, and the creation of holistic support systems that ensure not just survival, but a healthy emotional transition into motherhood.

 Abstract

Yoga is one of the ancient sciences of the world and has been originated in India. At the present times, it has evolved as one of the alternative therapy for human beings. In this 21st century, the modern man is suffering from lots of stress and strains, due to which he/she needed relaxation to their body. Yoga provides a holistic way solution to the body. Anybody by learning simple postures or exercises performs Yoga and stays fit. This yogic tradition has been coming from ancient times and has been evolved at present times and accepted as a part of health. Alcohol prohibition has been also found in ancient Indian traditions and different philosophers have time and again articulated about the ills of alcohol consumption and need for prohibition. The concept of alcohol use in the name of Somaras can be traced right from Vedas and concept of prohibition right from the writings of Manu. In fact, alcohol prohibition has been incorporated in the form of policy and act in several states of Modern India. The present article will discuss the different yogic traditions and concept of alcohol prohibition and will help in explaining how it has evolved in contemporary time and how it has been different from its traditional philosophies. In the light of the article, it will begin with the introductory part that will make us familiar with Yoga and alcohol prohibition. It will be followed by the different philosophies of Yoga and alcohol ban and will help in understanding the evolution of both. The latter will be followed by the significance of yoga and alcohol prohibition. Lastly, it will contain the conclusion parts.

 Abstract

The Anti-defection law under the Tenth Schedule of the Indian Constitution gives a decisive role to the Speaker of the House of People or State Legislative Assembly in deciding the disqualification of MLAs or MPs on the grounds of defection. Many times questions are raised on the impartiality of the speaker. He is accused of disposing of the disqualification petition in the interest of his former political party, i.e. if disqualifying rebel members is in the interest of the speaker's former political party, he immediately becomes active and declares such members disqualified and if doing so is not in the interest of his former political party, he remains inactive on the disqualification petition, because the biggest drawback of the anti-defection law is that the time limit for disqualification petition is not fixed. In such a situation, the objective of this research paper is to test the impartiality of the speaker and his activism in disqualification cases through the study of the cases of disqualification of MLAs in different states and judicial decisions.
