 Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Breast cancer is abnormal growth of cells in the breast. As of the end of 2020, there were 7.8 million women alive who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the past 5 years, making it the world's most prevalent cancer. Breast cancer is also a disease that has the potential to impact on many aspects of a woman's daily life activities including physical abilities, family, career and social world 6. The treatment of breast cancer is mainly surgical, and hence it is important to assess the functional status of the patients post-surgery. Aim: To evaluate physical and mental functional status of breast cancer patient's post-surgery using Short Form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire. Objectives: (1) To assess functional status in breast cancer survivors' post-surgery using Short Form -36 (SF-36) Questionnaire. (2) To determine the most affected domain of functional activities. (3) To compare the functional status after various surgical procedures in breast cancer patients. Methodology: This is a cross sectional study, where 50 post-surgical breast cancer patients, who had undergone surgical intervention not less than 6 months ago, were administered Short Form-36 (SF-36) self-report functional evaluation questionnaire and the scores of various domains were analyzed to achieve the objectives of the study. Results: The study included 36% Breast Conservation Surgery (BCS) patients, 27% Total Mastectomy (TM) patients, 24% Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM) patients and 13% Breast Reconstruction Surgery (BRS) patients. The duration from the surgery had no significant impact on the Functional outcome, but type of surgery had significant effect on the functional outcome. The physical health domain was most affected in Total Mastectomy patients (mean score - 65), while the mental health domain was more affected in both Total mastectomy (mean score - 73.3) and Modified Radical Mastectomy (mean score - 73.9) patients. Conclusion: The functional outcome in breast cancer patients is affected in all post-surgical cases, and type of surgery has profound impact on the functional outcome. As per this study, the mental health is more affected than the physical health in breast cancer post-surgical cases.

 Abstract

Reference section is considered the core of the library and specialised section of any library system, and in higher education system university system may be considered as core. To understand the importance of human resource management in the university library system by specifying a particular section i.e. reference section the study aims to understand the significance of library professionals, their role and impact in the particular section and it services. Since reference section is one of the particular sections where point to point service is provided and maximum user interaction is done apart from circular section it is necessary to be able to provide and remain up to the library service specially all the services coming under reference section

 Abstract

Abstract: Human beings have a natural ability to see, listen and interact with their external environment. Unfortunately, there are some people who are deaf and mute can't use their senses to the best extent. There are around 300 million deaf and mutes in the world. They depend on other means of communication like sign language. This produces a major barrier for people in the deaf and mute communities when they attempt to interact with others, especially in their educational, societal and professional environments. Therefore, it is necessary to have a sign language detection system to bridge the communication gap between deaf people and the normal people. This electronic glove designed to help an easy communication by interpreting the sign language. The gesture recognition is done using the electronic glove which consist of accelerometer sensors and flex sensors which are positioned on fingers. The acceleration and bend values of a hand motion are observed by microcontroller and it displays the corresponding text through LCD. This system allows individuals with hearing and speech impairments to communicate effectively by converting sign language gestures, captured through an electronic glove, into text displayed on an LCD screen. It can also assist speechless patients with partial paralysis who cannot speak but retain finger mobility.

 Abstract

Heterocyclic compounds have been shown significant uses in the field of biochemistry, medicinal Chemistry, agricultural science etc. They are important in the metabolism of all living cells. They are widely used in designing of pharmaceutical drugs as building blocks. An important heterocyclic compound is phenothiazine which is a tricyclic compound having thiazine nucleus, possesses a wide spectrum of biological activities and is significantly active to central nervous system. Phenothiazines also exhibit potential as anticancer agents. They interact with DNA via complexation. Biological activities of phenothiazines have been ascribed to structural specificity due to a fold along nitrogen -sulphur axis. 1, 4-Benzothiazines are important analogs of phenothiazines and structural specificity of a fold along nitrogen-sulphur axis is also present in these compounds. Derivatives of 1, 4-benzothiazines are highly bioactive and have widespread use in various therapeutic medicines. In the present research work the synthesized compounds have 2, 3-dihydro-1 4-benzothiazine nucleus having a side chain at position 4- forming nitrosourea linkage. Anti -cancer activities of some of derivatives of 4-(N-alkyl/ aryl-N-nitrsoamido)-2, 3-dihydro-1, 4-benzothiazine derivatives have been reported.8-9

 Abstract

Pakistan has consistently acted as an aggressor against India, causing disturbances both directly and indirectly on the territory of Jammu and Kashmir. By targeting India, Pakistan has sought to establish hegemony over the region through both timely and untimely measures. The attack in 1947 represents the first direct assault on Jammu and Kashmir, revealing Pakistan's intentions towards the region and its inhabitants. This assault was not only brutal but also resulted in demographic changes and alterations to the territorial boundaries of the state. It displaced thousands of families, effects that persisted for several decades. Moreover, Pakistan's actions led to the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir, with a portion of the land unlawfully occupied by Pakistan, known as Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This paper aims to analyse the suffering experienced by displaced families of PoJK following their displacement, as well as the dynamics of their identity in the contemporary context. Therefore, Pakistan remains not only an aggressor but also continues to inflict harm upon India through numerous strategic actions.

 Abstract

Euthanasia remains a contentious and emotionally charged issue in India, intersecting law, religion, medicine, and culture. This paper explores the prevalent belief systems around euthanasia in India by examining the legal evolution of passive euthanasia, religious doctrines that influence moral responses, societal perspectives shaped by tradition and modernization, and the role of palliative care. Through a multidisciplinary lens, this study argues that while there is increasing awareness and demand for the right to die with dignity, India's deeply embedded spiritual worldview, lack of infrastructure and complex familial decision-making continue to constrain broad acceptance and implementation of euthanasia practices.

 Abstract

Background: Gastritis, like a mouth or skin ulcer, is an open sore in the stomach or intestinal lining.Gastritis are typically brought on by acid and the stomach enzyme pepsin. An imbalance between defensive and aggressive elements leads to an ulcer. The Helicobacter pylori bacteria are the main culprit behind peptic ulcers.Materials and Methods: The Sree Ramakrishna Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and Hospital is located in Kulasekharam, Tamil Nadu, India. There was only one case study.Following an explanation of the study's purpose, verbal consent was acquired. The investigation was conducted over a 21-day period. This study's parameters include a pain scale and the regular recording of symptom changes. Results:For the data analysis, JASP software version 0.19.2 was utilized. It is evident that the combined yoga and naturopathy therapies resulted in a considerable reduction in gastritis symptoms.(t0.0977, sig 2tailed.0.9).Conclusion: Given the advantages of the biotherapies covered by naturopathy and yoga, it would be wise to incorporate them as a supplement to traditional treatment plans in order to lessen the negative effects of medication use and to effectively manage the symptoms of gastritis. In order to prevent and treat gastritis, yoga and naturopathy aim to lessen its underlying cause through a lifestyle that incorporates nutrition and stress-reduction techniques.

 Abstract

This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a paediatric dosage form Avaleha (semisolid herbal preparation) using Anacyclus pyrethrum Linn., commonly known as Akkarkara, aimed at managing tongue paralysis and toothache in children. Rooted in classical Ayurvedic knowledge and supported by modern pharmacological insights, this project addresses the critical need for a safe, effective, and palatable herbal alternative for paediatric patients, particularly for conditions affecting speech and oral health. Akkarkara is known for its nervine, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It has been traditionally used in conditions like facial paralysis, speech disorders, and dental ailments. In this study, a herbal Avaleha was developed using a combination of Akkarkara flower bud powder along with Amla, dates, jaggery, ghee, sesame oil, and a blend of aromatic and therapeutic spices. The formulation was modified into a lollipop form for improved acceptability and administration in children, ensuring prolonged mucosal contact and enhanced effectiveness. The formulation was evaluated for organoleptic properties (colour, taste, odour, texture), pH, moisture content (LOD), ash value, and microbial load. The Avaleha exhibited a pH of 5.3-5.7, suitable for oral administration, with acceptable levels of moisture (3.68%) and ash content (9.5%). Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and glycosides. Microbial tests demonstrated antibacterial activity, with a zone of inhibition against E. coli measuring 16-18 mm and a 66.2% reduction in colony-forming units. The study concludes that the developed Avaleha offers a child-friendly, natural, and therapeutically potent alternative for treating paediatric tongue paralysis and toothache. This innovative herbal formulation not only aligns with Ayurvedic principles but also meets modern safety and efficacy standards, warranting further pharmacological and clinical exploration.
