 Abstract

This paper deals with the design of supply chain models with complexities in the present industry. In this paper a mathematical model has been designed for a production distribution supply chain network considering volume flexibility and the various risks associated with disruptions. The model is framed using mixed integer nonlinear programming and multiple periods, multiple products, suppliers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers and customer market and distinct disruption scenarios have been considered. The aim is to minimize the total operational cost, minimizing the shortage cost due to disruptions and maximizing the flexibility level of the back orders.

 Abstract

It is a well known fact that all companies depend on various tools of marketing to sell their product and to communicate prospective brand values to their existing and expected consumers. As new trends emerge marketing communication has become an important element in all the business organisations which can not be ignored and henceforth traditional marketing practices have swept away and have madee way for a system of integrated marketing communication which includes a mix of marketing practices such as Advertisement, Personal selling, Sales Promotion, Experiences and Sales Events. As we know that with a huge surge in the available information the customers have widened their reach and hence the value of marketing communication has gone up considerably. Therefore we tend to use the Marketing Communication tools to influence the behaviour of our targeted customer. Also the companies need to keep in mind that the marketing communication tools are used intelligently so as to correctly influence the audience. This Research Paper aims to study the impact of marketing communication on customer purchase intention after taking into consideration success stories of several organisations who are able to grab customer attention successfully with the help of an integrated system of marketing communication. The purpose of this research paper is to determine if the planned use of various tools of integrated marketing communication is actually a medium to influence the purchase intentions of various types of customers be it expected or existing ones.

 Abstract

In India, the farmers still lack real time information about consumers, market demand and prices and are prone to more exploitation by existing intermediaries in the conventional supply chain. With the growth of organized retailing and free global trade, farming is becoming highly knowledge intensive, commercialized, competitive and globalised, making it necessary to digitize, rebuild competitive. In agriculture sector, an efficient supply chains to benefit both the farmer as well as the consumer. Also the urban areas are congested with deteriorating quality of life and highly saturated markets. While nearly 60 per cent of Indias population live in rural areas, and forecasts indicate that these numbers will remain the same, even in 2050. There would be approx. 800 million people living in Indian rural areas in the 2040-50s, providing the scale and the markets for commodity supply chains to thrive. Thus, there is a need for transforming rural India into a group of sophisticated vibrant activity centres. Innovations and transformations will be required in every layer of products, processes, business models, and service models. This study aims to find the different aspects of supply chain of agricultural outputs mainly in Assam and India by and large. The state of Assam is capable of producing many sorts of agricultural commodities but yet to reach the ideal position in terms of supplying and distribution.

 Abstract

To compare outcome of treatment between steroidantibiotic and 10% Ichthammol glycerine packs (IG packs) in acute otitis externa. A prospective study between steroidantibiotic and 10% IG pack which was performed in department of ENT, civil hospital jawalamukhi and civil hospital nagrota bhagwan from July 2019 to may 2020 on 32 patients was conducted. Age group among studied patients ranged from 14 to 56 years, with mean of 36.7 years. Out of which 20 (62.5%) were females and 12 (38.5%) were males. Pain assessed by Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and edema was assessed by dividing the external auditory canal in two quadrant giving score of 50% for each on the day of presentation and subsequent visits till tragal sign and edema subsided. Average number of visits in 10% IG pack group (n = 16) was 4.6 days (25 visits) while in steroidantibiotic group (n = 16) it was 3.5 days (25 visits). There was statisti- cally significant decrease in the number of visits in steroid group (P 0.05). Similarly, decrease in pain score in second visit was significant in steroid antibiotic group as compared to 10% IG pack whereas it was statistically highly significant on third visit (P = 0.001). Since the reduction of pain and edema is more in the steroid antibiotic group hence the total number of packing is significantly less in steroidantibiotic group, so it could be recommended to use steroidantibiotic pack for effective treatment of acute otitis externa.

 Abstract

Before 2004 there was a paper based voting system called the Ballot Paper System. With the growth of technology, we have moved in to the electronic voting machine system, called the EVM. But now a days EVM are not safe, because of the hardware malpractice which includes virus, hacking as well as physical tampering. To overcome such situations we are proposing a new system called the Advanced Voting Machine (AVM). Initially the voters are enrolled using the biometric fingerprint. After the verification of fingerprint the voters can cast their vote. There by we can avoid the fake votes. The candidate details are already stored so the voters can easily choose the candidate. At the time of voting, camera will be activated and it will capture the image of the corresponding voter symbol and it will be stored in the database. These images will be processed to identify the symbols using the image comparison techniques, and based on that counting take place. After casting the vote a token will be generated to the voters in the encrypted form to their mobile phones. After voting token generated in mobile phones to the voters, through this token voters get the details of the voting like candidate name, party name and symbol of the party etc in which we can assure that vote will be given for the right person. Otherwise we can claim on it.

 Abstract

Urbanisation and urban growth has increased urban population and affected socio-economic conditions in urban areas. The study aim is to assess the impact of socio-economic conditions on quality of life (QOL) of residents of Yenagoa City, Nigeria. Objectives are to determine social and economic indicators to assess QOL of residents in the study area; assess the impact of social and economic indicators on QOL of residents in the study area; and suggest urban planning policy and socio-economic framework to improve QOL of residents of Yenagoa City. The study employed Mixed Methods Research (MMR) approach using concurrent triangulation research design. The study identified 29 communities in the study area and 6 communities (20%) namely; Famgbe, Yenagoa, Ovom, Yenizue-Gene, Yenegwe and Igbogene communities were randomly selected for the study. A total of 399 respondents were selected for interview using stratified sampling technique and key informant approach was also used to obtain quantitative and qualitative data. The study revealed that there are inadequate quantity of healthcare and educational facilities and services in the study area which has increase mortality rate and access to education. Employment rate and monthly income is low as most residents are in the informal sector. This has increase crime and violent activity in the study area. These conditions have impacted negatively on QOL of residents of the study area. The study suggested that Yenagoa Master Plan 2004 should be reviewed to provide urban social and economic facilities and services to improve QOL; control, guide and manage urban growth and development, prepare urban renewal schemes for the communities; develop a Local Economic Development (LED) plan and apply Participatory Planning Approach (PPA) to planning and development of communities to achieve sustainable urban development.
