This research paper is on the social and cultural determinants of Indian retail investors' perception of risk in the derivatives market. Although derivatives promise high returns in the form of futures and options, the nature of volatility and complexity of these themselves makes them risky, usually translated by the subjective socio-cultural frame of reference. This research centers around the observation that risk perception is more than mere objective quantitative measures of financial returns or volatility in the market but is highly dependent on cultural values and norms, social convention, family, education, income, and gender. The evidence shows that investment choices are based on family consensus and collective action in collectivist cultures, whereas individualist forces create independent risk-taking. Social learning and herding, especially driven by peer groups and internet forums, are the main driving forces behind risk attitudes. Furthermore, behavioral biases such as overconfidence, loss aversion, anchoring, and informational cascades always come in the way of rational decision-making on a regular basis. Gender social dynamics also proved to be a strong influence, with women demonstrating risk-averse tendencies in comparison to men because of social norms and restricted access to financial resources. The study also reveals regional differences in investment patterns in India depending on economic growth, local financial infrastructure, and cultural beliefs. Media influence, technology access, and regulatory regimes also shape investor attitudes. The study, overall, emphasizes the importance of culturally sensitive financial literacy programs, inclusive policy interventions, and enhanced investor education to facilitate balanced and well-informed derivative market participation. The findings have practical implications for regulators, financial planners, and institutions aiming to establish trust, transparency, and stability in India's expanding financial landscape.

Forensic science often depends on manual suspect sketches, a method limited by artist availability, bias, and delays. This project introduces a standalone platform that enables law enforcement and eyewitnesses to build composite sketches using drag-and-drop tools. It features a modular facial component library and standardized templates for accurate reconstruction. Deep learning models then match these sketches against criminal databases with high speed and precision. Cloud deployment ensures scalable access, while machine-locking and two-step verification maintain strong data security.

Monitoring fetal health, especially in high-risk pregnancies, remains a significant challenge due to the complexity of accurately detecting fetal heart sounds (FHS). This paper presents a novel, fully noninvasive approach to extract fetal heart sounds from acoustic signals recorded from the maternal abdominal surface. The proposed method utilizes a single-channel blind source separation (SCBSS) technique, combining empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) to effectively separate and extract fetal heart sounds from mixed audio signals. The performance of the algorithm was evaluated on a dataset of 110 pregnant women, collected at Hafez Hospital, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. Testing on 50 randomly selected samples demonstrated the algorithm's ability to accurately separate the fetal heart sound, with the calculated fetal heart rate (FHR) achieving a 96% accuracy when compared to simultaneous ultrasound recordings. These results demonstrate the potential of the proposed noninvasive method for reliable, continuous fetal health monitoring, offering significant benefits in the management of high-risk pregnancies.

The present study aims to examine the impact of education and modern technologies both positive and negative on secondary school students. A comprehensive review of both Indian and international studies was undertaken to support the research framework. The study follows a descriptive survey method. A sample of 200 students from secondary schools in the Prakasam district was selected using a stratified random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was developed to gather students' opinions on the influence of education and modern technologies. The collected data were analyzed using various statistical methods, including mean, standard deviation (SD), t-test, and F-test. The scores obtained were compared across different variables such as gender, medium of instruction, class, type of school management, locality, parental qualifications, parental occupation, and family income. The findings have been interpreted in the context of previous studies. Based on the results, relevant suggestions and recommendations for future research have been provided.

Amitav Ghosh's The Circle of Reason uses postmodern techniques to challenge linear historical narratives. The novel follows Alu, a man displaced by personal tragedy and a wrongful accusation, highlighting the cyclical nature of history. Through characters like Balaram, Ghosh critiques Western rationalism, portraying it as a cultural construct. Elements of folklore and symbolic storytelling explore memory, identity, and migration. The novel's structure mirrors the gunas, Satwa, Rajas, and Tamas, representing human existence. The loom symbolizes the unpredictability of history and cultural connections. Ghosh critiques colonialism, presenting history as a fragmented, subjective experience. His non-linear storytelling rejects objective truths. Ultimately, the novel advocates for multiple perspectives on history and identity.

In multimedia systems, high-performance image scaling is essential to provide high-quality images on various devices. This paper introduces a new VLSI architecture for high-performance image scaling. The architecture utilizes optimized bilinear interpolation algorithms and hardware parallelism to improve throughput and minimize latency to provide fast and correct image scaling. Key aspects of the design are a pipelined architecture for ongoing data processing, bilinear interpolation methods to ensure image quality, and minimal power usage to maximize device battery life. The VLSI design compares favourably with previous methods in speed, resource usage, and power consumption. The architecture is ideal for inclusion within present-day multimedia systems and provides an extensible solution that addresses the needs of modern visual processing applications.
