Witch hunting or witch branding are the social menace, which are very much prevalent in the State of Assam. Witch doctors are the people, who usually brand a women (in few cases man also) as witch, in cases where there are issues of draught, flood, illness, death of the people of particular locality. The reasons of witch hunting or witch crafting are many, however, it has been in practice as a part of traditional belief, which is the reason people are reluctant to give up the practice. Existing laws in India have failed to address the issue. NGOs, Civil Societies, and Judiciary had expressed several times for need of the special laws for curbing this social evil. In Assam, the areas which are tribal and rural and low rate of literacy & income; particularly the Missing Tribe, people are guided by blind faith and superstition in these areas and this blind faith invokes them to believe in witchcraft.

The family is well known as the social institution that mainly participates in child development and nurturing. Parenting is a high task that is made even harder once one has to raise a child with a disability. The parenting styles are directly related to the coping mechanisms used by the parents. Dominant parenting was observed to be positively related with efficient coping styles and socio-economic strategies; on the other hand, authoritarian parenting was related with high degrees of avoidant coping and socio-emotional coping. The main aim of the given research was to find out the coping strategies that were used by parents of children with disabilities relative to that of parents of children without disabilities. The sample consisted of 100 parents (50 couples) of children with disabilities and 100 parents (50 couples) of children without disabilities, all residing in the Palamau district and meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A purposive sampling method was used for data collection. Tools used for the study were Socio demographic and clinical data sheet, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-5), and Brief Coping Orientation to problems Experienced Inventory (Brief Cope) (Carver,1997). Results showed that there are major differences between the parent of children with disabilities and the parent of children without disabilities in all three coping dimensions. Additionally, finding showed that, among the different coping styles assessed, instrumental support and self-blame only showed significant differences between the two groups, whereas the other coping style did not differ significantly.

This research paper explores the pivotal role of the Election Commission of India (ECI) in ensuring free and fair elections, a cornerstone of the world's largest democracy. Established under Article 324 of the Indian Constitution, the ECI is entrusted with the responsibility of administering election processes at both the national and state levels The Election Commission of India (ECI) is a constitutional authority responsible for administering free and fair elections in India. As the world's largest democracy, India requires a strong and independent institution to ensure electoral integrity. This paper examines the role, powers, and functions of the Election Commission of India, its contribution to strengthening democracy, and the challenges it faces in the contemporary political environment. The impact of judicial interventions and the role of media in supporting the ECI's mandate are also evaluated. In conclusion, the research underscores the ECI's significance in fortifying democracy in India by safeguarding the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and fairness in the electoral process. The findings suggest that while the ECI has made substantial progress, continuous reforms and vigilant oversight are essential to address emerging challenges and reinforce the democratic framework of India

Patient-centered care (PCC) - defined as care that respects and responds to individual patients' preferences, needs, and values - has been widely recognized as a core domain of health care quality. Extensive evidence suggests that integrating PCC principles into hospital practice can improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, adherence, and operational efficiency. This review synthesizes global literature on how PCC and systematic use of patient feedback can optimize hospital performance. We examine strategies for eliciting and incorporating patient feedback into service design, and we explore links between patient experience and metrics such as readmission rates, length of stay, adherence, and staff engagement. We analyze how quality improvement (QI) initiatives benefit from patient and family co-design, and we highlight enabling technologies (electronic health records, patient portals, mobile/digital surveys, and AI-powered analytics) that facilitate PCC. Comparative studies of public versus private hospitals are reviewed to identify contextual differences. Finally, we discuss challenges (e.g. resource constraints, data integration, workforce training) and innovative solutions (e.g. AI analytics, co-production frameworks) for sustaining PCC. Keywords: patient-centered care, patient feedback, patient experience, hospital performance, quality improvement, digital health, public vs private hospitals.

Literature has been a powerful instrument for communication that has been there since the beginning of time. It helps bridge not just the gap between time and space, but also the gap between different cultures. Literature makes it possible for people from different cultural backgrounds to understand one another, despite the fact that cultures differ in almost every aspect, from language to customs, traditions, beliefs, and social systems. Literature makes it possible for people to understand one another. One of the objectives of literature is to serve as a bridge between two different civilizations by communicating human experiences via imaginative and creative forms. The two cultures will benefit from increased mutual understanding, empathy, and respect as a result of this circumstance.

Ocular neurodegenerative disorders, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy (DR), and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), contribute significantly to visual disability and blindness worldwide. Optometry as a clinical discipline has increasingly recognized the importance of neuroprotection beyond refractive correction. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical system, provides an extensive pharmacopeia of neuroprotective and Rasayana herbs, while modern nutritional science supports the role of functional foods in sustaining retinal and optic nerve health. This review aims to synthesize scientific and clinical evidence supporting Ayurvedic herbs and functional foods with neuroprotective properties, while emphasizing their translational relevance in optometric practice and ocular diagnostics. A narrative, evidence-based review was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, AYUSH Research Portal, and Google Scholar databases. Literature from 2000-2025 was reviewed focusing on mechanistic pathways, optometric clinical implications, and translational applications in ocular neuroprotection. Findings indicate that Ayurvedic herbs such as Triphala, Curcuma longa, Withania somnifera, Bacopa monnieri, Tinospora cordifolia, and Ginkgo biloba enhance retinal antioxidant capacity, mitochondrial stability, and vascular perfusion. Functional foods enriched in lutein, zeaxanthin, omega-3 fatty acids, and polyphenols augment these effects by maintaining macular pigment density and photoreceptor viability. Clinical optometry now employs advanced imaging modalities such as OCT, PERG, mfERG, and contrast sensitivity testing to detect early neurodegeneration, providing opportunities for integrative interventions. Integrating Ayurvedic phytopharmacology and functional nutrition within optometric care models can strengthen ocular neuroprotection strategies. Enhanced clinical awareness and inter-professional collaboration between optometrists, nutritionists, and Ayurvedic practitioners are essential for translating this knowledge into preventive and therapeutic outcomes.

In this paper an attempt has been made to optimize ply stacking sequence of single piece E-Glass/Epoxy, HM Carbon /Epoxy and Boron/Epoxy composite drive shafts using Particle swarm Optimization (PSOA). PSOA programme is developed using MATLAB V 7 to optimize the ply stacking sequence with an objective of weight minimization. The weight savings of the E-Glass/Epoxy, HM Carbon /Epoxy and Boron /Epoxy shaft are 51%, 87%and 85 % of the steel shaft respectively. The optimum results of PSOA obtained are compared with results of genetic algorithm (GA) and found that PSOA yields better results than GA.

In this study, we examine the canonical position of the "Trinity" of Karnatic music--Tyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar, and Syama Sastri--through the historical, cultural, and musicological prisms, and we critically assess their legacy. By analyzing their individual contributions, stylistic divergences, and the sociopolitical processes that elevated them to collective prominence, the study challenges the homogenizing narrative of the "Trinity" framework. While their compositions--Tyagaraja's devotional kritis, Dikshitar's Sanskrit scholasticism, and Syama Sastri's rhythmic innovations--revolutionized Karnatic music, the research reveals how their canonization reflects 20th-century nationalist agendas and caste-gender biases. Critiques highlight the exclusion of contemporaries like Swati Tirunal and Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi, as well as marginalized voices such as non-Brahmin and women musicians. Despite these critiques, the Trinity's enduring influence on pedagogy, global dissemination, and cultural identity underscores their artistic merit. The paper concludes that while their genius is undeniable, their legacy must be recontextualized within inclusive historiography to acknowledge Karnatic music's diverse evolution.
