Printed character recognition from a scanned document is a process of detecting characters of a specific language and recognizing them from a scanned document. It is useful in converting scanned document into some kind of editable document by extracting the recognized characters. Various OCR systems have been developed for recognition of various Indian languages such as Hindi, Kannada, Bangla, Odia, Urdu, Telugu, Gurumukhi and Gujarati. This paper presents some of the works that has been done in recognition of printed Gujarati characters from a scanned image/document using various feature extraction and classification techniques.

Power was once considered a taboo in nursing. In the earliest years, the exercise of power was considered, inappropriate, unladylike and unprofessional. Many decisions about nursing education and practice were often made by persons outside nursing. Nurses began to exercise their collective power with the rise of nursing leaders and development of organization that evolved into American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing. Power gives one the potential to change the attitudes and behaviour of individual people and groups. Power has a positive and a negative face.

A chronic infectious disease caused by T. Carateum. The disease is now restricted to the Philippines and some areas of pacific .The disease is essentially one of childhood, often beginning after the age of 10- 15 years. Transmission is non venereal, by direct contact with infectious lesions. After an incubation period of 7- 21 days, an initial papular lesions appears on the hands and legs, followed by a macula papular, erythematous rash( pintides ) lasting for years. A late stages characterised by depigmented, lukodermic patches which may be permanent. In the treatment of pinta, the antibiotic of choices is benzathine pencillin G which has replaced PAM. The dose for patient under 10 years is 0.6 megaunits, and for those 10 years and over 1.2 megaunits. The peak age prevalence for pinta is somewhat older than for yaws or endemic syphilis, with individuals aged 15 to 30 years. Diagnosis is usually clinical, but as with yaws and bejel, serological tests for syphilis, such as rapid plasma regain (RPR) and TPHA, will be positive, and the spirochetes can be seen on dark field microscopy of samples taken from the early papules.Like other endemic treponematoses, pinta is thought to be spread through direct lesion contact. An important difference between pinta and the other endemic treponematoses is that without treatment the lesions tend to persist. The disease can be treated with penicillin, tetracycline , azithromycin or chloramphenicol.

Zika virus is an an RNA virus which belongs to the flaviviridae family. It is generally transmitted by mosquito bites. Symptomatic illness associated with zika virus infection is usually mild and self-limited. However, an ongoing outbreak in brazil has been associated with reports of guillain barrier syndrome and fetal microcephaly. The link of both of these conditions is not yet causally proven. In response, the WHO declared that the current outbreak constitutes a public health emergency and international concern (PHEIC) in February 2010. The zika virus was first detected in a monkey recovered from the zika forest in Uganda in 1947 and was later seen in specimen of aedes africian mosquitoes from the same forest in 1948, the first case of zika infection of a human was recorded in Nigeria in 1952. A study finds evidence that people in trench polynexia affected by guillian barrer curve exposed to zika virus. Researchers estimate that 1 in 4000 zika infectious could lead to the rare neurological syndrome. A new study tends support to one of the biggest fears about zika virus. It might increase the risk of the rare neurological syndrome Guillain barre.
