 Abstract

In the era of 21st century, women empowerment has been recognized as the central issue in determining the status of women. Since many years women are playing a crucial role in the development of economy, but the sad part is that even after stepping in 21st century and having conducive globalized scenario for growth women are still fighting for their basic human rights. The Constitution of India not only grants equality to women, but also empowers the State to adopt measures of positive discrimination in favour of women. Rural development implies both the economic betterment and social development of women. Rural women are prominently engaged in agricultural and cattle management activities. Empowerment of rural women reflects a greater social transformation. The Government has various plans and policies for women. The study is an effort to explore whether the Government policies are playing significant role in the development of women in rural areas in terms of their effectiveness in terms of support services, training for employment and income generation, awareness generation and gender sensitization which play a complementary role in empowering women both socially and economically or more efforts are required at the ground level.

 Abstract

Concentration probability criterion and generalized classes of estimators in restricted regression model, to study two generalized families of estimators from the literature in linear regression model under exact linear constraints of parameter vector when the criterion of choice of estimators is taken to be concentration probability of estimator around the true parameter. Following small sigma asymptotic approach, the sampling distributions and the concentration probabilities of the two generalized families of estimators are derived and the efficiency is discussed with respect to the criterion of concentration probability.

 Abstract

Alcoholism is one of the most important social problems today, and it's becoming worse every year. The developing countries of Asia, particularly India, are experiencing the quickest growth. Drinking alcohol makes a man's life a living hell. Alcohol not only harms a person's health, but it also harms his family and society. In Ayurveda, the various disorders caused by improper diet are referred to as diseases. Madya is that one which do the action of Madatyaya. Whatever beverage which produces intoxication in the individuals also can be understood as Madya. The present article does a critical review about the Madya with its types.
