 Abstract

Globally climate change is occurring at an alarming rate, Ethiopia has been identified as one of the most vulnerable countries to this change. The impact of climate change is vary by gender. Hence, this study is investigate the impact of climate change on agricultural production, water resource, and assesses the perception of WHHs and determinants of climate change adaptation strategies applied by WHHs to reduce the impact of climate change. The study employed multi-stage random sampling procedure to select study area as well as sample respondents. Primary data have been collected from 168 women sample respondents using interview schedule, Focus Group Discussions, Key Informants Interviews, and observation methods. Descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression were used to analyze the quantitative data. While narration and triangulation techniques were used to analyze the qualitative data. The study result indicated that 90.5% of the respondents believed that temperature was increased and similarly 92.3% witnessed that rainfall decreased in their village. The multinomial logistic model result on climate change adaption strategies revealed that level of education, frequency of extension visit, farm size, distance to nearest road, TTLU, participation in any extension service trainings on climate change, and have informed/ perceived- about climate change were the key factors to influence women farmers to choose of adaption strategies significantly at p<10%. As climate change is the main problem, which is beyond the capacity of WHHs, it is quite pertinent to capacitate WHHs government and any developmental organization should play meaningful roles to create opportunities that helped them to engage in those activities that are less sensitive to climate change.

 Abstract

Purpose: Dalit women stand at the lowest strata of society. They have faced double wrath of being women belonging to Dalits. With the rise in the necessity of higher education, Dalit women are opting for it. But here they too face various challenges. Thus, this study aims to understand challenges faced by Dalit women in higher education with respect to Uttar Pradesh. Design/methodology/approach: The study is qualitative and descriptive in nature. A sample of 6 Dalit women has been chosen from the state of Uttar Pradesh using stratified random sampling. The data collected through personal in-depth interviews have been analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings: The study found that major challenges they face are related to lack of awareness of government schemes and fear of bullying. It was also found that family support helps Dalit women to opt for higher education. Also, the reservation system and various government schemes offered for girl education encourage them to pursue higher education. Originality/Value: The previous literature has a scarcity of studies dealing with challenges faced by Dalit women in higher education with respect to Uttar Pradesh. The present study aims to bridge the gap by conducting a qualitative study to understand these challenges.

 Abstract

The present-day prevalence of diabetes has become a significant global concern, impacting metabolism and insulin secretion. Diabetes mellitus poses health and socioeconomic challenges worldwide, affecting 25% to 33% of populations. Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to diabetes. This study aims to evaluate the phytochemical, physiochemical, and pharmacognostical characteristics of the leaves of Hibiscus rosa and Anthocephalus cadamba. The leaves of Hibiscus rosa and Anthocephalus cadamba are caustic and bitter, with an odourless taste, according to pharmacognostical investigations. The leaves can range in colour from green to pale yellow. Physiochemical study reveals varying extractive values in various solvents, with ethanol exhibiting the highest extractive value. Saponins, alkaloids, tannins, and phenolics have been detected in the leaf powder of Hibiscus rosa and Anthocephalus cadamba, according to phytochemical study. The study's botanical, physical, and chemical criteria can be utilised to determine the drug's identity and purity, which will determine the herb's safety and effectiveness.

 Abstract

Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are a target of public health development due to their widespread prevalence, irritability, and reported variations worldwide. Clinical findings range from asymptomatic or mild to morbidity or death. Diagnosis must be made quickly to ensure patient satisfaction and take prompt action. Current methods for RTI studies in clinical trials rely on a variety of techniques, including traditional gold standard methods (of which ancient cultures are often used) and the refractive process (e.g., molecular approach), which is often used to understand diseases and disorders. Although this test needs to be used appropriately in different patients, the use of molecular methods from the syndromic process has the potential to be a powerful decision-maker in the management of the patient examination. They radically shorten the time to results and increase the detection of diseases associated with conventional medicine. Additionally, team collaboration, when applied with discretion and careful interpretation, can improve antibiotic use and patient outcomes and improve laboratory work performance. This review provides an overview of the main etiological, clinical and epidemiological aspects of RTI, focusing on clinical diagnosis and the potential of syndromic groups.

 Abstract

Musculoskeletal injuries consists of conditions such as pain, inflammation, tingling and numbness involving tendons, cartilage, ligaments and joints. Repetitive activities like awkward postures, bending, twisting may lead to pain at different joints, muscle imbalance and decrease functional activities which may affect work and hence also affects daily income. In the profession of vegetable vendor is to stand for longer duration with minimal break hours. This study will help to determine the prevalence of work related musculoskeletal injuries in vegetable vendors using Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire(NMQ).

 Abstract

Solubility of orally administered drug is major challenge of pharmaceutical industry as nearly 35-40% of newly launched drugs posses low aqueous solubility which leads to their poor dissolution and low bioavailability, resulting in high intra & inter subject variability & lack of dose proportionality. This can be increased by different methods like salt formation, solid dispersion and complex formation. Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SEDDS) is gaining popularity for improving the solubility of lipophilic drugs. SEDDS are defined as isotropic mixtures of one or more hydrophilic solvents and co-solvents/surfactants that have a unique ability of forming fine oil-in-water (o/w) micro emulsions upon mild agitation followed by dilution in aqueous media, such as GI fluids.Present review provides an updated account of advancements and disadvantages in SEDDS with regard to its composition, evaluation, different dosage forms method of preparation and various applications.
