 Abstract

Quality assurance has become a central concern in higher education due to increasing competition, accountability, and stakeholder expectations. In India, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) plays a significant role in evaluating and enhancing the quality of higher educational institutions through a structured accreditation framework. The present study examines the role of NAAC accreditation in improving institutional quality with reference to academic, administrative, and infrastructural dimensions. The study focuses on how NAAC processes influence teaching-learning practices, governance, student support services, research culture, and overall institutional performance. Using a descriptive research design, data were collected from faculty members and administrators of selected higher educational institutions through a structured questionnaire. The findings reveal that NAAC accreditation has a positive impact on quality enhancement by promoting systematic planning, outcome-based education, transparency in administration, and continuous improvement practices. The study concludes that NAAC accreditation serves as an effective mechanism for institutional quality improvement and provides useful insights for policymakers and educational administrators to strengthen quality assurance practices in higher education institutions.

 Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to identify the Rasa and Bhava aspects in Mahesh Dattani's drama Dance Like a Man, which depicts the suffering of a young girl who was sexually assaulted by her own uncle. Mahesh Dattani is an Indian English dramatist who has attempted to use his theatrical abilities on an Indian stage to draw attention to the horrifying problem of incest. In relation to Dance Like a Man, this will also emphasise Dattani's contribution to Indian theatre. Theatre is a type of art that occurs in the "now" since it is a stage where live actors perform in front of a live audience. One of the unique delights of the theatre for both the artists and the audience is the live actor-audience interaction. The audience can enjoy the Rasa, a Sanskrit word with multiple connotations that is best grasped in its whole in the Sanskrit phrase Param Asvadniya Tattava, which is essentially the essence of drama, through dramatic performance since it directly appeals to their sensory organs. In Rasadhaya of Natyashastra, Bharatmuni advanced the rasa idea.

 Abstract

Precedent studies are indispensable in architectural education. The structured exposure to spatial structures, types of reasoning, and diagram interpretation is what the students get from them. In this paper, a teaching experiment with second-year architecture students has been reported, where Clark and Pause's Precedents in Architecture (2012) book provided the framework. The workshop dealt with four conceptualizations: centralized, radial, linear, and clustered/grid. It brought about systematic studies of precedents, merging forms, and making eleven-part diagrams. Qualitative methods were applied to evaluate the learning of students. These methods were observations, self-reports using the Subject-Copula-Predicate format, and the thematic analysis of visual outputs. Furthermore, a questionnaire was given to 28 participants. The results indicate that working with types and mixed spatial interpretations enhanced students' analytical clarity, expressing power, and creative confidence. The research suggests making reasoning through diagrams, using typological language, and reflecting on language as the main teaching tools for improving design understanding in early architectural education.

 Abstract

Abstract The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the principal organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security. However, its permanent membership structure reflects the geopolitical realities of 1945 rather than contemporary global dynamics. India, as a major emerging power, has consistently sought permanent membership in the UNSC. This brief paper examines the rationale behind India's candidature, the challenges it faces, and the broader implications for UN reform. It argues that India's inclusion would enhance the legitimacy and representativeness of the Security Council.

 Abstract

Frankenstein, often hailed as the world's inaugural science fiction novel and uniquely crafted by a female author, has garnered acclaim for its captivating blend of gothic aesthetics, forward-thinking ideas, and masterful language. Published in 1818, the narrative serves as a cautionary tale, warning against audacious scientific experiments that disrupt the natural order. Moreover, it provides a critical examination of the prevailing male hegemony in realms such as life, literature, and art. Despite undergoing significant revisions in 1831, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein maintains its role as a potent critique, particularly directed at the idealistic pursuits of male-driven scientific endeavours and the marginalization of feminine creative power. The paper in question seeks to reevaluate the novel through the lens of an anti-utopia, asserting that the deliberately bleak and devoid-of-hope conclusion serves a purposeful narrative function. To support this claim, the paper delves into the historical context of the term "anti-utopia," drawing distinctions from its more commonly known counterpart, "dystopia." It aims to showcase how Frankenstein's concluding moments intentionally lack a sense of hope or alternative, suggesting that this narrative choice is not an oversight but a deliberate decision on Shelley's part. In building this argument, the paper will cite specific instances from the text, highlighting how the storyline evolves toward its eventual annihilate ending. It posits that within the context of the depicted circumstances, the bleak resolution emerges as the most logical and fitting solution to the problems presented in the narrative. Moreover, the paper will explore the idea that Mary Shelley's own shifting beliefs are reflected in the novel's conclusion, indicating a nuanced perspective on the consequences of unchecked scientific ambition and the imbalance of power between genders.

 Abstract

Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is a significant topic in hospitalized patients, and the patient characteristics take a key role on risk determination. The knowledge of the profile of catheterized patients not developing CAUTI can facilitate a clearer grasp of the factors that can influence the process of achieving the infection-free outcomes. To present demographic and clinical features of patients in the control group having urinary catheters and find patterns that are applicable to the prevention of CAUTI. A descriptive observational study was done on 200 catheterized adults in a tertiary care hospital. The demographic variables were age, marital status, education, occupation and residence. Some of the clinical variables were diagnosis, postoperative surgery, and BMI. The analysis of data was based on the use of descriptive statistics and independent t-tests. The majority of the patients were aged between 20 and 50 years with the gender distribution close to equal. The majority consisted of married patients, those with secondary or university level of education and individuals residing in the urban areas. The most common diagnosis was urinary retention, which was then followed by urinary incontinence and bladder management after surgery. The most common postoperative surgeries included Prostatectomy and pelvic surgery. The patterns of BMI indicated that there were a higher number of overweight people. The independent t-tests showed significant differences in all the demographic and clinical variables (p < .05).The results indicate a vivid demographic and clinical characterization of catheterized patients who were not exposed to CAUTI. The characteristics are able to facilitate tailored preventive measures and more careful catheter management practices in healthcare facilities.
