Deterioration of road structural integrity due to flooding may cause huge expenditure for rehabilitation and maintenance of roadways. The design of pavement structure is based on the strength of compacted soil known as the sub grade or road foundation; hence sub grade is the significant part of the road structural system. When roads are inundated for a long time or repeatedly, the materials in each layer of road structure become saturated, and the original condition of sub grade soils will be compromised. After flood, many roads were reported to be in its worst condition. In this scenario, an investigation was undertaken for determining the effect of road submergence on the sub-grade strength of road. Soaked and un soaked CBR tests were conducted on the soil samples and the results were analysed to study the effect of submergence on the performance of road pavements

Violence against women includes physical, sexual, psychological abuse. It is one of the most pervasive forms of human rights violation, denying women the equality, security, dignity, self-worth and their right to enjoy fundamental freedoms. Many countries have strong laws to protect women from violence but fail to implement them because of lack of awareness of women regarding legal provision. The study was done to assess the awareness of women regarding legal provision towards domestic violence. The lower part of Bihpuria Mouza was selected for the study and sixty women were selected as sample respondents. A self-prepared interview schedule was used for collecting the data regarding awareness of women.

Along with the growing issues regarding global warming and reduction of reserves of fossil fuels, researchers all around the world are attempting to look for alternate resourced required for saving the planet for the coming future. For our requirement more and more plants are set up using the wind, hydro and solar generation of power. It is known that wind power generation owns its can provide power to some huge extent however this resource is also not predictable in terms of its presence in the atmosphere. In a similar manner power through sun cannot be dependent on, it can be present for whole day but can atmospheric conditions be never reliable and unexpected clouds, rains, trees can be factors of limitations related to such power generation. Most basic signs of climate especially in sun and wind systems are due to their irregular natures of appearance which makes there a very unreliable source of power. Although using the two resources in combination, by using algorithms such as MPPT: "Maximum Power Point Tracking", an effective transfer of power can be done to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of the power generation system.

The present study is an attempt to highlight the economics of potato cultivation in village Sherpur of district Shimla of Himachal Pradesh. The study is primarily based on primary data but for physical, and socio-economic aspects of the village, secondary data are also utilized. The primary data regarding various agricultural operations or activities like land preparation, sowing, irrigation, manure application (farm yard manure), weeding, pesticide spray, harvesting, transportation, and marketing of the produce under potato cultivation as well as the cost involved in each activity is collected from the farmers of this village through field survey conducted in 2019 under which structured interview method was adopted. A comparative study regarding the cost-benefit analysis for potato cultivation per acre of land is exercised in the case of self/family members involved in potato cultivation in this village which highlights that the net return is 3.87 times more than the cost of cultivation of potato. The net return can be increased if the farmer adopts natural farming instead of doing conventional farming.
